Dress Code Derangement

A few days ago, the Senate voted to have essentially no dress code to appear on the Senate floor! Several days earlier, a reporter, tried to enter several upscale restaurants in DC, while dressed like a slob in the new PA Senator’s daily outfit. He was appropriately denied access. The maître D responded that the restaurant had a dress code that diners must conform to.

We should not even be having a discussion about this, especially on the Senate floor. There are certain places, and certain circumstances, where decorum is needed. Not doing so is extremely disrespectful. It took all of nine days for the Senate to reverse course and require a dress code. Because the Pennsylvania Senator likes wearing a hoodie, he wanted to change the decorum of the Senate.

Think of what the taxpayer is feeling, when these jerks are hours away from shutting down the country, and they’re focusing on what to wear!! It doesn’t make you a man of the people to dress like a slob! It’s beneath the dignity of the Senate. He thinks he’s a celebrity who smells their own farts!! In a civilized society, certain settings and occasions require a specific type of dress.

“Beneath the dignity of the Senate”? That’s a pretty low bar, with close to one hundred examples!

Dignity and politicians, 2 words that go together like peanut butter and jelly. Not!
